Seizing the crown prince
Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty secretly ordered people who were good at looking at faces to come and look at all their sons. He said that the king of Jin (Yang Guang) was very valuable. Not long after, Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty came to Yang Guang's residence. He saw that most of the strings of the musical instruments were broken, and there was dust. He didn't seem to use them. He thought Yang Guang didn't like singing and dancing Geisha, and admired him very much. Yang Guang disguised himself even more. At that time, people called him Ren Xiao.
In the winter of the eighth year of kaihuang (588), Chen of the Sui Dynasty and Yang Guang, who was just 20 years old, were the commander in chief. Gao Yu was the real commander in the army. He ruobi and Han qiehu were the famous generals fighting in the front line.
Emperor Wu of the Northern Zhou Dynasty made great achievements. After he was even, he was about to drink horses in Jiangnan, but he died suddenly. Chen Shubao is fatuous and lacks a good general. At the beginning of Emperor Wen's accession to the throne, he made every effort to pacify Chen (such as the appointment of Han qiehu and he ruobi). He ruobi helped the mouth of the capital, and Han captured tiger to help quarrying, which caught Chen Jun by surprise. The Sui army broke through the Yangtze River at one stroke. After calming Chen, he settled in Jiankang, killed Chen Shubao's treacherous minister and favorite concubine Zhang Lihua, sealed up the Treasury, and took Chen Shubao and his Empress back to the capital of Sui Dynasty. The crown prince Yang Yong is studious and good at writing Ci Fu. He has a kind and gentle personality. He is free from hypocrisy. Yang Yong once decorated his Sichuan armor with decorative patterns, but Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty was not happy about it, which probably led to a trend of luxury. Empress Dugu was disgusted that her son and minister had concubines. The crown prince Yang Yong has a lot of beauties, but the crown prince's concubine yuan's family suddenly died. Empress Dugu thinks it's the crown prince's concubine Yun's who killed her. Empress Dugu sends people to watch for Yang Yong's crime. Knowing this, Yang Guang disguised himself more. His concubine just gathered enough, but only lived with concubine Xiao. Therefore, the queen despised Yang Yong and praised Yang Guang's virtue. Every time Yang Guang came to the court, his attendants were frugal, simple, respectful, and extremely humble. Therefore, he had the best reputation among the sons of Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty. Yang Guang also falsely accused empress Dugu that Yang Yong wanted to frame and kill her. When the empress changed her mind, he knew that she had taken over the position of the empress. Yang Guang, Zhang Heng and others made a decision. Yang Guang, Yang Su and empress Dugu constantly framed Yang Yong. Finally, in October of the 20th year of emperor kaihuang (600), Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty abolished Yang Yong and in November he became crown prince.
Ascend to the throne as Emperor
In the fourth year of Renshou (604), Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty was ill and lived in Renshou palace. Emperor Wen called the crown prince Yang Guang to live in the palace. Yang Guang considered that if Emperor Wen died, he must take precautions in advance. He wrote an envelope and sent someone to ask Yang su. Yang Su wrote down the situation one by one and replied to the prince. The palace man sent the reply to Emperor Wen's bedroom by mistake. Emperor Wen was very angry. At dawn, Mrs. Chen went out to change clothes and was forced by the crown prince Yang Guang. He was able to get away only when Mrs. Chen refused. When she returned to Emperor Wen's bedroom, Emperor Wen wondered why she didn't look right. When she asked why, Mrs. Chen said with tears, "the prince is rude!" Emperor Wen was angry, thumped his bed and said, "this beast! How can he be entrusted with state affairs! Dugu mistook me So he called Liu Shu and Yuan Yan and said, "call my son!" Liu Shu and others want to call Yang guanglai. Emperor Wen said, "it's (Yang) Yong." Liu Shu and Yuan Yan went out of Emperor Wen's palace to draft imperial edicts. When Yang Su heard about it, he told the crown prince Yang Guang. According to Emperor Wen's will, Yang Guang arrested Liu Shu and Yuan Yan and put them in Dali prison. They quickly transferred the soldiers from the east palace to stay in Renshou palace. The entrance of the palace was forbidden, and Yu Wenshu and Guo Yan were sent into the dispatching command. They ordered Zhang Heng, the right concubine, to serve Emperor Wen. All the people in the harem were driven to other rooms. After a while, Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty died. Therefore, there are many different views inside and outside the imperial court. Yang Guang ascended the throne.
Zhao Yi recorded in Daye Lue Ji that Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty was poisoned by Zhang Heng. In Tongli, President Ma recorded that Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty was "splashed with blood" by Zhang Heng.
After Yang Guang succeeded to the throne, he falsely passed on the will of Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty and forced Yang Yong to commit suicide. Yang Xiu, the king of Shu, was falsely accused of using witchcraft to curse Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty and his younger brother Yang Liang of Han Dynasty. He was deprived of official rank and demoted to be a commoner and put under house arrest in NEISHI province. Later, he was put under house arrest together with other scholars and was not allowed to meet his wife.
His brother Yang Liang, the king of the Han Dynasty, fought in Bingzhou in the name of seeking Yang su. Yang Guang sent Yang Su to suppress him. After his surrender, Yang Liang was imprisoned to death. On March 4, the third year of Daye (607), Yang Guang killed his nephew Yang Yan, king of Changning, and demoted the rest of his nephews Yang Yun, king of Anping, Wang of Xiangcheng, Wang Yang Ke, Wang of Gaoyang, Wang of Jian'an, Wang Yang Shao, Wang of Yingchuan, Wang Yang Xiaobao, and Yang Xiaofan to Lingnan, where they were all executed on the way.

He also gave Qimin Khan chariots and horses, ranking higher than the princes of the Sui Dynasty. Gao Xun has a general plan of culture and martial arts. He has a clear understanding of world affairs. He has been entrusted with his duties and is dedicated. Gao Zhen thought that Yang Guang was too generous to Qimin Khan. He said to he Hou, "this prisoner is quite aware of the reality of China, and the mountains and rivers are dangerous and easy, so he is afraid of future trouble." He ruobi also said that it was too extravagant to treat Qimin Khan. Yang Guang executed Gao Xun, Yu Wenbi and he ruobi, exiled Gao Xun's son to the frontier, and demoted Yu Wenbi and he ruobi's wife and children as slaves. Suwai was also detained and lost his official position. Xiao Cong, the brother of empress Xiao, was abandoned at home because of his friendship with he ruobi, and soon died.

Engineering levy
In the first year of Daye (605), the construction of Tokyo (renamed Dongdu in 609) lasted ten months, using two million people a month. However, in the period of Yang Guang, there was no outer city in Tokyo, only a short wall. The outer city was built only in the period of Empress Wu Zetian.
Yang Guang ordered the canal to be built, and tens of thousands of dragon boats, building boats and other ships were built, which were used in Yangguang's Jiangdu (Yangzhou) several times. After Yang Guang ascended the throne, when he was lucky to be in Jiangdu, the dragon boat was quadruple, 40 to 50 feet high and 200 feet long, with the main hall, inner hall and east-west hall on the top, and 120 rooms in the middle, all decorated with gold and jade, and the inner residence on the bottom.
In order to satisfy his extravagant life, Yang Guang overhauled his palaces and gardens and left his palaces. Among them, the famous ones are Xianren palace, Jiangdu palace, Linjiang palace, Jinyang palace, Xiyuan, etc.
In the first year of Daye (605), Yang Guang ordered the construction of Xianren palace, which was transported to Luoyang from the strange materials and stones to the south of Dajiang River and the north of Wuling Mountain, and the garden was enriched with the beautiful trees and grass, rare birds and animals. Yang Guang ordered Wang Hong and others to build tens of thousands of dragon boats and miscellaneous boats in the south of the Yangtze River. The officials in Luoyang supervised the labors severely and urgently, and four or five tenths of them died. Yang Guang also ordered the construction of Tianjing palace in Luoyang.
Xiyuan has a radius of 200 Li, with a sea in it and a circumference of more than 10 Li. Penglai, abbot, Yingzhou and other sacred mountains are built in the sea. The mountains are more than 100 feet above the surface of the water. Temples and pavilions are scattered all over the mountains, which are like fairyland in any way. In the north of the garden, there is a dragon scale canal, winding into the sea. Along the dragon scale canal, sixteen courtyards were built. The gate of the courtyards was close to the canal. Each courtyard was presided over by Madam Sipin. The halls, halls and buildings in the courtyard were extremely gorgeous. In autumn and winter, after the branches and leaves of the trees in the palace wither, they cut ribbon silk to decorate the branches with flowers and leaves. When the colors are old, they are replaced with new ones, making the scenery often like spring. In the pool, ribbon cut silk is also used to make lotus, bamboo, diamond and Gorgon. When Emperor Yang came to visit, he removed the ice in the pool and decorated it with colored silk to make it beautiful. In order to get Yang Guang's favor, the sixteen academies competed with each other to compare the high and low with precious and exquisite food. Yang Guang likes to be on a moonlit night
