Auguste Rodin
Auguste Rodin (November 12, 1840 - November 17, 1917) is a French sculptor. His main works include the thinker, bronze age, Calais and Balzac.
Rodin was born on November 12, 1840 in a family of ordinary employees in the Latin District of Paris, France. In 1854, he entered the potit School of design, and formed an indissoluble bond with sculpture. In 1862, he entered the monastery of St. Timothy and completed the bust of IMAR. In 1875, he traveled to Italy and carefully studied the works of Donatello, Michelangelo and others, inspired by them. From 1876 to 1877, Rodin completed the bronze age. In 1879, he completed the group sculpture "call for arms to fight". In 1880, Rodin began to write the gate of hell. The project was huge and lasted until the end of Rodin's life in 1917. In 1886, he made a statue of Hugo, a writer. In 1898, it was completed as a statue of the writer Balzac. In 1916, he donated all his works to the French government. Rodin died on November 17, 1917, at the age of 77.
Rodin's creation has a great influence on the development of modern European sculpture. He and his two students, marjor and budel, are known as the "three pillars" of European sculpture.
