Yao Beichen
Yao Beichen, named Xiaoqing, was born in yaowan village, Luoyang County, Henan Province in 1897. He was determined to save the country and the people since he was a child. He actively responded to the revolution of 1911 and Yuan Dynasty. During the northern expedition, he served as the major general and commander of the second independent brigade of the eighth front army of the second group army of the national revolutionary army. Later, he went to the front line of Shanxi and took part in the famous battles of Pingxingguan and Zhongtiaoshan. When the country was in crisis, general Yao Beichen actively resisted Japan and won the hearts of the people. After the founding of new China, he served as the principal of the military and political Cadre School of Hubei military region. On September 29, 1953, he died of heart disease in Wuhan at the age of 56.

Yao Beichen (1897-1953), named Xiaoqing, was born in yaoao village, Luoyang County, Henan Province in 1897. He was intelligent and studious when he was young, and entered a private school at the age of seven. Later, he entered Luoyang County high school. Educated by the revolutionary education of President Jiang Eshan, Xing runqi, Duan Yuru and other leaders of the alliance, he was determined to save the country and the people since childhood, and actively responded to the revolution of 1911 and the revolution of Yuan Dynasty. He graduated from Luoyang middle school in Henan Province with excellent results in 1915. In 1917, he went to Peking to study in the University of the Republic of China. Later, because of his poor family, he joined the army and entered the first Preparatory School of the Qinghe army. In March 1919, he was selected by the state to study in Japan with excellent results and good moral character. He attended a rally of Chinese students studying in Japan to support the May 4th Patriotic Movement in Tokyo. He graduated from the 13th artillery section of the Japanese army sergeant school in September 1922. At school, he became close friends with patriots such as Li Minghao, Zhang Fu, Hu Wendou and Wang Hehua. After returning to China, he was assigned by the army to serve in the Zhensong army of Shaanxi Province and concurrently served as the weapon instructor of the Military Academy of Shaanxi army. He was the artillery commander of Shaanxi army and participated in the second Zhifeng war. During the northern expedition, he was a major general and commander of the second independent brigade of the eighth front army of the second group army of the national revolutionary army. He took part in the battles of Qingfeng and Nanle and won the revolutionary Medal of Feng Yuxiang. After the outbreak of the war of resistance against Japan, he went directly from Lushan to Xinyang to lead the army northward to resist Japan, and served as the commander of Shijiazhuang police and air defense. Later, he went to the front line of Shanxi and took part in the famous battles of Pingxingguan, Xinkou and Zhongtiaoshan. At a time of national crisis and national survival, general Yao Beichen actively resisted Japan, was brave and good at fighting, had a good command, and severely punished the traitors, which won the hearts of the people. He successively served as major general brigade commander of the 194th brigade of the 15th army of the National Revolutionary Army, lieutenant general division commander of the 64th division, lieutenant general and deputy commander of the 15th army, etc. During the war of liberation, he resolutely joined the revolutionary camp in Jiaxian County, Henan Province on November 4, 1947. He was then deputy commander of the 15th division. In 1948, he responded to the call to join the PLA and served as a senior military instructor of North China military and Political University.
After the founding of new China, the Central Military Commission transferred the work of the 51st army of the fourth field army. Later, he served as the president of the military and political Cadre School of Hubei military region. On September 29, 1953, he died of heart disease in Wuhan at the age of 56. During general Yao Beichen's hospitalization, Li Xiannian, Wang Shusheng, Han Dongshan, Zhang Fu, Zhang Guangcai, Ye Ming and other leaders of Hubei military region sent people to visit him many times.
General Yao Beichen was awarded the commemorative medal for the liberation of North China and the commemorative medal for the liberation of central and southern China. On April 14, 1955, the Central South military region of the fourth field army of the Chinese people's Liberation Army issued the certificate of revolutionary serviceman who died of illness to Wang Yaqing, wife of general Yao Beichen. Ms. Wang Yaqing enjoyed the provincial military level preferential treatment given by the people's Government of Hubei Province until her death in February 1981. Their children enjoy the treatment of martyr's children in the first cadre's children school of Central South military region until they go to work.

In July 1922, Japanese scholars returned home after graduation. In August, he served as the weapon instructor of major of Shaanxi army's lecture hall.
In March 1924, he was promoted to commander of the 1st Battalion of artillery regiment of the 2nd division of Shaanxi army.

In March 1927, the 2nd Division was reorganized into the 21st army of Zhenwei Army (commander Zhang Zhigong), still serving as the commander of artillery regiment. In September, the headquarters was reorganized into the artillery regiment of the 8th Front Army (Liu Zhenhua), commander in chief of the 2nd group army of the National Revolutionary Army (Feng Yuxiang), still serving as the head of the colonel. In November, the headquarters was expanded to the 10th mixed brigade of the 23rd Army (commander Liu Zhenhua) and promoted to the rank of major general brigade commander.
In July 1928, the headquarters was reduced to the 6th regiment of the 60th Brigade (brigade commander Xu Pengyun) of the 20th division (division commander Liu maoen) of the 2nd group army, and changed to major general, deputy brigade commander and head of the 6th regiment.
In April 1929, the 59th brigade of the temporary 20th division was renamed the 12th Brigade (brigade commander Xu Pengyun) of the temporary 4th division (division commander Liu maoen), still serving as the Deputy brigade commander of the major general and the head of the 24th regiment. In September, the 11th brigade of the 4th division was temporarily renamed the 12th brigade of the 66th division (brigade commander Xu Pengyun) and was appointed as major general, deputy brigade commander and head of the 6th regiment.
In February 1930, the 12th brigade of the 66th division was expanded to the 77th division (division commander Xu Pengyun) of the 29th Army (army commander Liu maoen) of the Beijing National Government, and was promoted to deputy division commander of major general. In May, the headquarters was reorganized into the 67th division of the National Revolutionary Army (division commander Xu Pengyun), still serving as the deputy division commander of major general.
On March 24, 1931, he was awarded the fourth class Baoding medal. After the abolition of the sixty-seventh division in April, it was transferred to the sixty-fifth division (division commander Liu Maoen) 195th brigades (brigade two regiment) major general brigadier.
