Cai Chao
Cai Chao (1467-1549), with the name of Juyuan and the name of Xiashan, was born in Chengguan, Linhai. Ming Hongzhi eighteen years (1505) Jinshi, granted the Imperial Academy Shuji Shi, moved the military branch to the matter.
During Zhengde period, he was appointed as the governor of Huguang University and the right counsellor of Guizhou Province. In the first year of Jiajing (1522), he was transferred to Fujian right to participate in politics. He made great contributions in raising military supplies and fighting against Japanese. Quanzhou and Zhangzhou set up monuments for him. In the sixth year of Jiajing reign (1527), he was promoted to the right Minister of Henan Province. During his term of office, he built a road and encouraged people to plant elms and willows beside the road. After retiring, he took care of his hometown, planned to control the big and evil beaches, built the Jinyi bridge, moved the three river ports, and dredged the springs and wells. Jiajing 28 years (1549) summer death, 83 years. His works include ten volumes of Xiashan collection, one volume of Huxiang political records, six volumes of decipherment, two volumes of bianci Mingyan and one volume of dual Jinghua. Ziyuncheng was an official to the Ministry of punishment. The tomb is in Fenghuang mountain, Dongtan stream, Linhai City.
