Wang Xilian
Wang Xilian is one of the three famous critics of a dream of Red Mansions in the Qing Dynasty. He was originally named Xidi and was born in Dongshan, Wuxian County, Pingjiang Prefecture.
Life of the characters
Wang Xilian (1805-1877), formerly known as Xidi, was also named Xuexiang (also known as Xuexiang). Because of his praise of a dream of Red Mansions, he was the owner of Dongting flower protection. He was good at writing poems and had brilliant talent. He once lived in Yushan, where he hired a talented woman, Zhou Qi, as the vice minister. He sang in harmony and elegance, and studied Redology together. He was well-known for his high artistic quality and died in Fengshan, Taihu Lake. According to the preface of "a dream of Red Mansions in a new commentary on embroidered statues", Wang Xilian of Wuxian County wrote in Shuangqing immortal hall, and Zhao Tongjun, his good friend Zhaowen (now Changshu, Jiangsu Province), said in the preface of "twin history" that "Wang junxuexiang of Wuxian County, the elder brother of the league" is enough to prove that Wang Xilian is a native of Wuxian County, Jiangsu Province.
Family background
There are some records about his family background: Wang Xilian's father Wang Zhongyuan was an official in Guangdong, his uncle Wang Liangsheng (unknown), Wang Zhongchun (unknown), his elder brother Wang Chaozhong (unknown), his younger sisters Wang Lanzhen and Wang Junzhen (unknown); Wang Xilian's elder sister Wang Lanzhen is also a gifted person, according to Jiang Baoling's Mo Lin Jin Hua; "Wang Lanzhen, Chuyu, feiluan, lives in Zhaowen (Changshu). Wang Zhongyuan, a quarter girl, is good at regular script. She is fond of drawing flowers in white, and does not show others lightly.
