Chen Jingzong
Chen Jingzong (1377-1459) was named Guangshi, Danran Jushi and xiule old man. He is from Cixi, Zhejiang Province. Ming Dynasty officials, scholars.
In the second year of Yongle (1404), Chen Jingzong was selected as an imperial scholar and promoted to the head of the Ministry of punishment. Later, he moved to Nanjing Guozi company and was promoted to Nanjing Guozi sacrificial wine. He was famous all over the world for his self-discipline, doctrines, bad habits, and articles of virtue. He and Li Shimian, the son of the state, were both valued by the scholars, and were also known as "South Chen and North Li".
In the first year of Jingtai (1450), Chen Jingzong became an official and lived at home. He died in the third year of Tianshun (1459) at the age of 83. In the 24th year of Jiajing (1545), he was awarded the title of "wending" to the Minister of rites.

Chen Jingzong had a beautiful beard, a good face, a steady gait, and tried to teach himself. He made teaching rules and got rid of bad habits. There are more than 1000 students in the six halls. Every time they go to the lecture hall and set up a dinner party, they are all cleaned up like the imperial court. If there is a slight irregularity in his appearance, he is ordered to go to the court to be punished. The subordinate officials, afraid of his dignity, framed him with other things and sued the judicial department. Zhou Chen and Chen Jingzong were friendly and said, "why don't Shangshu defend himself?" He made a good draft for him, and the wording was a little accommodating. Jingzong was surprised and said, "isn't that cheating the monarch?" He didn't play it, and things had to be clear.
After the end of his term, Chen Jingzong entered the capital. Wang Zhen wanted to see him and made Zhou Chen express his wish. Jingzong said: "I pay a private visit to the eunuch as a student teacher. How can I face the students in the future?" Knowing that he could not be made to yield, Wang Zhen gave him brocade, mutton and wine, and begged him to write Cheng Zi's four precepts, hoping that he would thank him. After Jingzong finished writing, he just signed his name and sent back the gift he gave. He never went to see him. Wang Zhi, as the Minister of the Ministry of official affairs, calmly said to him, "Mr. Wang has been in the Department for a long time. I will recommend you as the secretary." Jingzong said, "you know me. I'm discussing with the world's elites all day. Aren't you very happy?"

In May 1459, Chen Jingzong died at the age of 83.
In 1545, Emperor Shizong of Ming Dynasty gave him the title of "wending" as the Minister of rites.
