In 1982, Li Dongsheng went out of school and was originally assigned to a government agency. However, he chose TTK home appliances Co., Ltd., a foreign-funded factory in Huizhou, which was founded only one year ago, as the predecessor of TCL group. This year, Li Dongsheng became the 43rd employee of TTK.
In 1986, he served as the director of the introduction Department of Huizhou Industrial Development Corporation, Guangdong Province. He had extensive contacts with famous international multinational groups, such as Philips of the Netherlands, downer of the United States, and Jinshan Industrial Group of Hong Kong. He attracted them to invest and run enterprises in Huizhou, and successively participated in more than ten enterprises, such as "China Europe", "Huixin", "downer", "e's", "Qisheng" and "leting" He has worked in the preparation of large-scale joint ventures and served as the Chinese director of these enterprises.
At the beginning of 1990, Li Dongsheng participated in the electronic products fair in Las Vegas for the first time. At that time, compared with foreign products and booths, Li Dongsheng deeply felt the gap between Chinese enterprises and was determined to develop Chinese industry.
In 1991, Li Dongsheng decided to set up a branch in Shanghai to innovate the sales mode and establish the enterprise marketing network. The launch of Shanghai market has affected and driven the sales of surrounding areas. Subsequently, branches across the country have been opened.
In the early 1990s, TCL in Huizhou, led by Li Dongsheng, found a second growth point and successfully entered the large screen TV market, launching a 28 inch trump.
After taking over as chairman of TCL, Li Dongsheng began to carry out investigation and preparation before the overall restructuring. In 1997, TCL signed a contract with Huizhou Municipal government to start a five-year pilot project of authorized operation of state-owned assets with "authorized operation and incremental bonus shares". After five years of authorized operation, TCL's sales revenue has increased by three times, its profit has increased by two times, and its brand value has increased by four times, realizing a historical leap from a local small enterprise to a leading consumer electronics enterprise in China.
In January 2004, TCL was listed as a whole, with Li Dongsheng as chairman and CEO. The overall listing indicates that TCL has further established a perfect modern corporate governance structure after the system reform.
In 1999, the first battle of TCL globalization started in Vietnam. In 2004, Li Dongsheng focused on the European and American markets and quickly acquired Thomson's global color TV business and Alcatel's mobile phone business, which was a pioneering move in the history of overseas M & A of Chinese enterprises.
In Li Dongsheng's eyes, without the control ability of the whole industry chain, it is impossible to compete with Japanese and Korean enterprises. Therefore, he aimed at the LCD panel. In 2009, TCL invested in Ma Huaxing optoelectronics to build China's first high generation panel line relying on independent innovation, breaking the long-term monopoly of Japanese and Korean enterprises in the field of semiconductor panel manufacturing and rewriting the history of "lack of core and less screen" in China.
Reform is always on the way. Li Dongsheng's voice of "building up the backbone of China's economy" clearly conveys TCL's goal of promoting China's economic development through industry. Through more than 30 years of adhering to the industry, TCL has made remarkable achievements at home and abroad and played a positive role in China's economic development.
The rebirth of the eagle
Li Dongsheng was the first group of college students to resume the college entrance examination in 1978, which gave him a second life. When TCL was in high spirits, Li Dongsheng refused the political future of vice mayor of Huizhou; when it was in great international losses, Li Dongsheng wanted to leave and have a real estate emergency, but finally stuck to the home power industry and stood up again.
Li Dongsheng, an engineering student who loves literature and history, published this article on the internal forum and eventually spread to the society, just like the electric welding he once used, burning, melting and re merging, which opened the rebirth of TCL and himself. "At this time, the eagle has only two choices, either to die, or to undergo a very painful renewal process, 150 days of long metamorphosis." On June 14, 2006, an article "the rebirth of the eagle" shocked the whole TCL and even the whole Chinese business community. At that time, two years after the acquisition of Thomson color TV and Alcatel mobile phones, TCL fell into unprecedented losses. This made Li Dongsheng's personal reputation drop from the peak to the bottom. Li Dongsheng, who has always been tolerant and elegant, has shown his inner hardness as never before. In his article, he pointed out the stubborn disease of "feudal culture" in TCL and admitted that he lacked the courage to change. After opening the wound to show the public, it was a vigorous reform.
Five years later. On January 5, 2011, Li Dongsheng solemnly announced: Eagle has been reborn.
Love life
Li Dongsheng has made a lot of friends in the circle of entrepreneurs. Like Ma Huateng of Tencent, when Tencent was listed in the early years, he became an independent director of Ma Huateng. In the circle of entrepreneurs, he and Liu Chuanzhi have a good chat. They once discussed the road of property right reform together, and they also faced the loss of M & A.
In spite of the change, a large number of entrepreneurs left TCL for various reasons. But on September 28, 2011, at the celebration of TCL's 30th anniversary, familiar faces still appeared on the stage as expected. Li Dongsheng was filled with emotion. Although once discord, but love life, a smile devoid of enmity. Li Dongsheng still has a lot of friends. Mr. Wu Jinglian, 25 years old, often talks to Li Dongsheng about the technical problems of the home appliance industry. Besides friends, there's family. Although eager to spend more time with his family, Li Dongsheng said that he had never imagined the life of "idle clouds and wild cranes".
"At present, the development of the enterprise is still in a climbing period, so I can't have any slack in my mind. I want to push the enterprise to the next peak with you." Li Dongsheng said.
