By the end of 2019, there are 5120 medical and health institutions in Yibin City, including 135 hospitals (102 private hospitals); 4945 primary medical and health institutions, including 177 township health centers, 46 community health service centers (stations), 10 outpatient departments (stations), 4021 village clinics; 37 professional public health institutions, including 11 centers for Disease Control and prevention, and Health Supervision Institute (medium) 11. There were 29800 health technicians, an increase of 1000 over the previous year, including 10100 licensed doctors and licensed assistant doctors and 13900 registered nurses. There were 35200 beds in medical and health institutions, an increase of 1700 beds, including 26500 beds in hospitals and 7800 beds in township hospitals.

In 2019, the total number of patients diagnosed and treated in Yibin City was 25 million, including 10.22 million in hospitals (1.77 million in private hospitals) and 14.08 million in primary medical institutions; 1.4997 million were discharged, including 834300 hospitals (221 000 private hospitals) and 297000 primary medical institutions; and the hospitalization rate in the County was 80.2%. The rate of online purchase of essential drugs in primary medical and health institutions was 100%. The maternal mortality rate, infant mortality rate and the mortality rate of children under five years old continued to drop to 4.86/100000, 2.53 ‰, and 4.06 ‰, respectively.
