In May 2013, the State Forestry Administration and CCTV launched a large-scale public welfare activity of "Beautiful China Wetland Travel". By searching for the most representative and typical wetlands in China, they show the beauty and magic of different types of wetlands and arouse the public's awareness of cherishing and protecting wetlands. According to the criteria of "whether the value is outstanding, whether the shape is typical, whether the species is unique, and whether the protection is strong", the "Ten Charming Wetlands in China" including Weishan Lake National Wetland Park was finally finalized through the selection of TV exhibition, online voting, and the general meeting of the organizing committee.
