Weishan Lake National Wetland Park
Weishan Lake National Wetland Park, located in the southern part of Weishan County, Jining City, Shandong Province, is less than 3 kilometers away from the urban area. It is the largest meadow-type Lake Wetland in Asia and the national AAAA-level tourist attraction. It was elected as one of the "Top Ten Charming Wetlands in China" in 2013.
On December 13, 2011, the State Forestry Administration officially approved the establishment of Weishan Lake National Wetland Park. This is the only National Wetland Park in Jining City, Shandong Province, and also the only Wetland Park in Weishan Lake area approved to be named "Weishan Lake".
All water surfaces of Weishan Lake are under the unified management of Weishan County . The total planning area of the park is 150,000 mu. It is a large public welfare ecological project with wetland protection, popular science education, water purification and ecological sightseeing as its main contents. Weishan Lake National Wetland Park is the largest meadow Lake Wetland in Asia.
In the next few years, Weishan County will coordinate wetland protection and rational utilization to ensure the water quality safety of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, maintain the ecological balance of the lake area, and make the construction of Weishan Lake National Wetland Park a high-quality project of freshwater lake wetland tourism and a landmark project of wetland ecological construction in China, the largest Wetland Park in Asia and a model of lakeside wetland park.

The southern part of Weishan County, Jining City, Shandong Province, is about 3 kilometers away from Weishan County.
On April 30, 2014, Weishan Lake National Wetland Park Tourist Bus Line opened. The line is equipped with new energy air-conditioned buses. It runs 12 kilometers from Weishan bus station to Wetland Park. There are 21 stations. The one-way running time is 40 minutes, the whole fare is 2 yuan. The daily operating time is 6:00 a.m. to 18:30 p.m., and the running time is running water every 15 minutes. The opening of the line will provide safe, convenient, green and environmentally friendly travel services for the general public and tourists.

Weishan Lake National Wetland Park was awarded the Top Ten Charming Wetlands in China
On October 31, 2013, I learned from the award ceremony of "Beautiful China Charming Wetland" of China's Top Ten Charming Wetlands. In the large-scale public welfare activities of "Beautiful China Charming Wetland Travel", Weishan Lake National Wetland Park emerged from 41 international important wetlands, more than 400 national wetland parks and more than 550 National Nature reserves, and was selected as "China's Top Ten Charming Wetlands". It is the only wetland in Shandong Province that has won this honor.
Weishan Lake is a large inland freshwater grassland lake with complete structure and good preservation. It covers an area of 1266 square kilometers. It is the largest freshwater lake in northern China. It is the unique river-lake blending wetland and the largest lake-island wetland group in Asia. It has been named "the first wetland in Asia in Weishan Lake" by the most board of directors of Guinness Asia. She is also an important reservoir and water conveyance channel for the East Route of the National South-to-North Water Transfer Project. The Weishan Lake National Wetland Park under construction, with a total planning area of 150,000 mu, is a large public welfare ecological project with the wetland ecosystem and history and culture as the main resources, wetland protection, popular science education, water purification and ecological tourism as the main contents. The beautiful scenery not only attracts more than 200 birds to settle down, but also brings back the extinct saury, small silver fish and mandarin fish after natural purification.

By searching for the most representative and typical wetlands in China, they show the beauty and magic of different types of wetlands and arouse the public's awareness of cherishing and protecting wetlands. According to the criteria of "whether the value is outstanding, whether the shape is typical, whether the species is unique, and whether the protection is strong", the "Ten Charming Wetlands in China" including Weishan Lake National Wetland Park was finally finalized through the selection of TV exhibition, online voting, and the general meeting of the organizing committee.
