Chaohu Folk Song, the local traditional music of Chaohu City, Anhui Province, is one of the national intangible cultural heritage.
On May 20, 2006, Chaohu Folk Songs were approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists. Number: II-6.
historical origin
Chaohu City is located in the middle of Anhui Province, surrounded by the Jianjiang River and lake. It has the site of "Hexian ape man" 3.4 million years ago, which proves that it was once one of the birthplaces of Chinese culture. Folk songs of Chaohu Lake, accompanied by the ancient history of Chaohu Lake, have undergone a simple and complex, single and diverse evolution process, and have been sung to this day.

On the evening of November 7, 2017, Chaohu Folk Song Concert, one of the sub-activities of Hefei Branch of Shanghai International Art Festival of China, sang at Hefei Theatre. At the concert, Chaohu Folk Song's provincial inheritor Li Jialian and male singer Lei Yujun sang "Green Wave Rolling in" was adapted from Chaohu traditional Yangko, which was exuberant and full of passion.
