In 1948, Gong Xuehua was born in Shanghai under the rule of the Republic of China, and her ancestral home was the Hakka family in Yongding, Fujian.
In 1993, Gong Xuehua married a translator from the consulate in Shanghai and immigrated to France with her husband.
