Character evaluation
Zhang Lu came into the audience's attention in 2007 as a little leopard in Guanzhong woman, and later as Jiang Weiguo in the era drama parents' love, which vividly demonstrates the image of the eldest son who bears responsibility and forbearance. Looking back on Zhang Lu's previous works, it is not difficult to see that he has strict requirements for script design and character carving, and most of his characters are shown in positive images. (Phoenix Entertainment review)
Zhang Lu, who has a wonderful performance in films and TV series such as Guanzhong woman, daily hero and tough man 2, has played different types of military roles, including Communist Party members, Eighth Route Army, contemporary soldiers and so on. Most of them are decent military images, while Wang Baichuan in Ode to joy gives the audience a different understanding of him. (Sina entertainment review)
In the TV series Ode to joy, Wang Baichuan, played by Zhang Lu, is different from other male characters in the form of love. He is often in the process of secret love. The depressed and humble emotion relies on the interpretation of inner drama, and Zhang Lu can grasp the subtle gap. Zhang Lu uses actions, words and details to show Wang Baichuan's restraint of emotion in his few plays. Even if Zhang Lu doesn't have too much plot rendering, his role is moving, warm or distressing.
