Liu Yi (999-1051), named Mengbo, was born in the second year of Xianping of Song Dynasty (999). His father, Liu Ruoxu, was a Jinshi in the fifth year of Xianping (1002) and an official to Shangshu.

Soon after that, it was sentenced to Zhangpu County in Zhangzhou, and then to Runzhou (now Zhenjiang City in Jiangsu Province). Huang Yu died in 1051. Liu Yi was a clean and honest official. When he died, he had no new clothes and no money left. The people in Runzhou collected money for his funeral. Buried in Sujia village, Ma'anshan, Ximen, Fuzhou. In 1061, the sixth year of Jiayou reign, Cai Xiang, the prefect of Fuzhou, wrote the inscription on Liu Mengbo's tombstone for him, praising him for his noble and noble life, which was passed down by later generations.
