In 1985, Huang Yamin, Kuang Mingjie and Tang Meigui formed a "happy girl" to sing for the first time. After Tang Meigui quit the performing arts circle, Qifei records (later acquired by baolijin records) reorganized happy girls into "city girls" and released seven albums.

Most of the songs of city girls are happy, young and dynamic dance music. In Taiwan in the late 1980s, it can be said that she was the ancestor of the most popular girl group in Taiwan at that time. Kuang Mingjie has superb dancing skills and flattering appearance. Huang Yamin has a sweet voice and elegant appearance. They are perfectly matched, which can't be surpassed by other girls of the same period later.

In addition to singing, city girls also perform in many Taiwanese films and advertisements. Many songs, such as "don't leave blank when you are young", "only open one eye", "red dance shoes that don't want to sleep", "morning on Sunday", "really tell you the truth", "spread joy and spread love", are all songs with advertisements and movies.

It's worth mentioning that Huang Yamin tried to write lyrics for the first time in the city girl's "never see you again" album. He wrote the popular and famous lyric work "close relationship". After the dissolution of city girls, Huang Yamin released his personal albums after two years. In order to change the image of the city girl, she began to sing lyric songs with very good singing skills, including 1993's "can't bear in the heart", which is a well-known representative work after solo flight. In 1994, Huang Yamin left Taiwan's baolijin records and transferred to EMI EMI EMI. He released his third volume of personal album, who can make me cry again, and soon got married in the same year and temporarily withdrew from the performing arts circle.
