Li Keng (1928-1965)

His father is Li Minwei, one of the pioneers of Chinese film. At the age of three and a half, Li Keng began to play a role in the film humanity. Since then, he has taken part in many films, such as goddess, city night and loving mother's song. Among them, the performance in goddess is the most representative, becoming one of the most famous child stars in China in the 1930s.

Life of the characters

Li Keng, the most famous child star in the 1930s, was born in 1928. He was born in a movie family. His mother Lin ChuChu was a famous Chinese movie star in the 1920s and 1930s. His father Li Minwei was the founder of Minxin film company and one of the founders of the famous Lianhua film company. Growing up in such a family, he was influenced by film art from childhood. At the age of three and a half, he began to make films in "Lianhua". His first film was "humanity" shot in 1932. Since then, he has played a child role in "goddess", "city night", "life (1934)" and "Ci Mu Qu". He is very gifted in acting, can quickly enter the role, acting natural, real, on the screen to create a lovely and lively image of children, welcomed by the audience. Ruan Lingyu, a famous movie star, plays Li Keng's mother in "goddess". She loves Li Keng very much, often holds him and calls him "Keng boy" affectionately. In 1937, when the Japanese invaders invaded Shanghai, he went to Hong Kong with his parents and later to Guilin with them. In 1943, he studied at Peiying middle school in Guilin. In 1944, he took refuge with his parents and came to Guangxi. In this period of wandering years, he made films and plays. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, he went to high school in Guangzhou. In 1946, he was admitted to Lingnan University. In 1949, he went to Hong Kong. In November of the same year, he returned to Beijing and worked as an actor in Beijing Film Studio. He took part in the shooting of "March of Democratic Youth" and "always harming others". At the end of 1958, he was transferred to the Pearl film studio as an actor and deputy director. He died in 1965 at the age of 37.
