Zhao Shushen
Zhao Shushen
Zhao Shushen (SH ē n), born in 1904 in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province. He is a famous director, producer, screenwriter and entrepreneur; he is the founder of Hong Kong color film, stereo film and wide screen film. Educated in the United States since childhood, he studied photography, setting and other professional techniques in Hollywood. In 1933, he and Guan Wenqing founded grand view film company in the United States.
In 1934, he came to Hong Kong and directed the films "brother" and "Langhua village". In 1935, he founded Hong Kong Grand View sound film Co., Ltd. and produced nearly 90 films, such as "yesterday's night song", "big fool out of town", "silly detective", "Luhua tears" and "strange shadow of a deserted village".
In 1937, the Anti Japanese patriotic film "at the last moment" was given a benefit performance with Su Yi and other filmmakers in Hong Kong. In 1951, Li'er color film company, which specializes in Mandarin films, was founded. He died in 1990.
