Social evaluation
From the governor of Fujian Province to the Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Hu Ping has been on the cusp of reform and opening up. He is both a pioneer and a doer. In spite of many problems encountered in the process of "deregulation and decentralization", Hu Ping is still determined to deepen reform and expand opening up. In 1986, when Hu Ping made a report on the work of the government at the fifth session of the Sixth People's Congress of Fujian Province, he said: the way out for Fujian lies in reform and opening up. Only by deepening the reform and opening up can we further straighten out the economic relations in all aspects, fully mobilize the enthusiasm and creativity of the cadres and the masses of the whole province, and put them into the practice of economic and social development, and gradually lay the foundation for a vibrant socialist commodity economic system with Chinese characteristics and in line with the reality of Fujian.
