Early experience
On August 2, 1952, Liu Zhenwei was born into a Catholic family in Cheung Chau, Hong Kong. When he was two or three years old, his mother took him frequently to two of the few cinemas on the island. At the age of 16, Liu Zhenwei went to England to study art printing design. After graduation, his first job was in an advertising company. After about three years, Liu Zhenwei felt that he was not interested in design work, so he joined a financial company of Asian capital to do fund management work. Later, the company decided to make films in Hong Kong. By chance, he became the general manager of the film company and participated in the production of Hong Kong New Wave films such as "fierce list" and "hot youth". In 1984, Liu Zhenwei took part in the script writing for the first time, and soon after that, his company went bankrupt. At that time, Liu Zhenwei was very disappointed and went back to the mainland to do other business. After less than a year, Liu Zhenwei devoted himself to writing screenplays. In 1987, Deng Guangrong's Darong film and television production company was to be reorganized. Deng Guangrong invited him to join, and Liu Zhenwei recommended Wang Jiawei. They joined the reorganized yingzhijie Production Co., Ltd.

Character evaluation
Liu Zhenwei has made great achievements in many fields, such as screenwriter, director, producer and actor. He is Wong Kar Wai's golden partner and Stephen Chow's main creator. He is one of the representatives of Hong Kong comedies (Sina entertainment review). Since the movie, he has been known as "Crazy Horse". Whether it's "gambler", "East and west", or "journey to the west", there are wild imagination, wanton humor and nonsense everywhere. This has become Liu Zhenwei's unique film style. (Tencent Entertainment review) love in Liu Zhenwei's movies can be called "Crazy". When you love someone you shouldn't love, you go crazy for love, and then you end up in different places. Whether it's Yu Zixia, Bai Jingjing, or Faye Wong, who is crazy to dance solo for Tony Leung in "unparalleled in the world", Liu Zhenwei's love must begin with comedy and end with sadness.
