Character evaluation
The difference between Cui Zi'en and other writers who have tried to write homosexual texts is that other writers mainly show a kind of humanistic concern for homosexuals in a sympathetic and serious style, while Cui Zi'en tells his life experience as an extreme narcissistic homosexual (review of Journal of Ningbo Radio and Television University). Cui Zi'en is a writer with unique creative personality. As a homosexual writer, he combines narcissism with autobiography in the text, expressing the soul cry of marginal people. Aestheticism is the most distinctive feature of Cui Zien's novels, which is mainly manifested in two aspects in homosexual texts: one is the romantic and sad sentimentality in the memoir style writing, the other is the unconstrained peak of imagination and the use of symbolism. His novel creation has both classical elegance and simplicity, and Western avant-garde writing style, showing a rich and colorful appearance. He is committed to using pure literary language to express the unique aesthetic ideas and artistic pursuit of the marginal people, and all kinds of colorful creative works make Cui Zien a unique landscape of contemporary homosexual literature creation (Hunan Normal University) Mao Yongli.
