In 1943, Zhanjiang was also occupied by the Japanese invaders, and the Hong Kong Star drama company went to Guilin and Vietnam to continue performing in the war. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Wu Chufan and Zhang Ying returned to their hometown from the mainland and went back to their old business. They are still famous in the film industry. Fifteen years later, in 1957, Wu Chufan and Zhang Ying went to Zhanjiang with a delegation from the Hong Kong film industry to revisit the old place.
