Li Dingbao (1930-2006.05.21) graduated from the performance Department of Shanghai Academy of drama in 1955. He is a national first-class actor, a member of Chinese Dramatists Association and a member of Chinese filmmakers Association. His image creation is characterized by good basic skills, weight, depth, strength, calmness and boldness, putting revealing human nature in the first place, and pursuing "ideal model" for image creation. He treats each role conscientiously, finds out their different characteristics, and makes each person have his own appearance. Fu Zuoyi, who plays in the film "the battle of Pingjin", is in a complicated situation and full of inner contradictions. He works harder. For this reason, he is recognized by experts from all walks of life. He won the special awards of art contribution and Golden Rooster Award from the general political department. Yang Shangkun, the old revolutionary who was then president of the state, praised him for his "good performance".
He died of lung cancer on May 21, 2006.
