Early experience
When Wang Yanhui graduated from high school, some of his classmates called him to apply for Yunnan art college. Although he never wanted to be an actor, he was pushed to the examination room. Because mandarin standard, like sports and good coordination, can't sing and dance, he was admitted by Yunnan art college.
Acting experience
In 1989, after graduation, Wang Yanhui entered Yunnan dialect troupe and performed many roles on the stage. After that, he went to Beijing Film Academy for further study, stayed in Beijing for five years, and gave up some acting opportunities.
In 1993, he played in the TV series "the third army" directed by Wang Haowei. In 1995, he cooperated with Jiang Qinqin and Zhang Qiuge in the ancient costume drama Xi Shi, in which he played Ji Ni, a counsellor of Yue State in the spring and Autumn period.
