If everything comes back, you may choose filming
A "Shaolin Temple" made Jet Li a film star. Today, Zhao Changjun, who has chosen to run a school for more than 10 years, still has some regrets while affirming Jet Li's success
Reporter: you have the ability and opportunity to enter the entertainment industry like Jet Li. What did you think at that time? How to evaluate Jet Li?
Zhao: someone commented at that time, "Jet Li's world was in the 1970s, Zhao Changjun's in the 1980s, and Yuan Wenqing's in the 1990s." Jet Li and I had a fierce competition in the 1970s. We were rivals on the field and good friends off the field. Shaolin Temple is a household name for Jet Li. In terms of fame and wealth, Jet Li is undoubtedly successful in the performing arts circle. I am happy for him from the bottom of my heart.
Reporter: Jet Li chose filming and became an international superstar, but you set up a school. What was your consideration at that time? Do you feel sorry now?
Zhao: (scratching his head with his right hand, thinking a little) from a personal point of view, there are some regrets, especially in film and television. These may not be the same as personal pursuit. Of course, fame and wealth are more practical. But whether it's shooting or running a school, it's all about making contributions to the development of Wushu. Of course, I love filming. I didn't dare to say before. Now I believe that I'm not inferior to Jet Li in acting. At that time, some Hong Kong companies wanted to sign contracts with me, and they also had the opportunity to teach in foreign martial arts schools. However, the leaders of Shaanxi wanted me to stay, saying that Shaanxi sports needed me. "No matter how good the film is, it's also your own. Now you have to contribute to Shaanxi sports." I think that the province trained me, but I suddenly left, which would live up to the expectations of the leadership. Out of these considerations, I stayed.
Reporter: if you put this opportunity in front of you again, would you choose filming?
Zhao: (pause a little, serious expression, a little thought) how to say, if I can do it again, I may choose to shoot. And at that time, from my heart, I was inclined to make movies.
The most promising apprentice, yen Tzu Dan, studied for a whole year
