Tang Meiyun was born in Taiwan on July 14, 1964. She is a famous Taiwanese Opera actor. She is good at playing roles and Sanhua. She once took charge of Heluo Gezai Opera Troupe. In 1998, she founded Tang Meiyun Gezai Opera Troupe. She is committed to compiling new Gezai Opera repertoire and trying different forms of performance. His acting career expanded to TV series, film and other fields, and won the best actress award of Taiwan Golden Bell Award.

Personal experience
Tang Meiyun was born in a family of Gezai Opera. Her father, Jiang Wutong, was nicknamed "qingfanzi dog". Her real name was Ichiro Morita. She was originally the son of Morita, a Japanese in Taiwan during the Japanese occupation period. Her parents entrusted him with the support of Jiang Chou and Jiang wuqin. Later, because of the shipwreck of Morita, Jiang Wutong stayed in Tainan, Taiwan. At the age of 14, Jiang Wu Tong learned from his teacher and devoted himself to the performance of Gezai Opera. In his early twenties, he became famous and gradually established the reputation of "No.1 in opera". Tang Meiyun was born in the Ziyun society with his mother's surname Tang Bingsen and stage name "Tang Yanqiu". She specialized in Xiaosheng and married Jiang Wutong in the Ziyun society. After their marriage, Jiang Wu Tong and his wife formed their own "Bao'an opera company". In the 1970s, Taiwanese opera was in decline, and their support was difficult. Tang Meiyun had no intention to participate in the performance of Gezai Opera. However, limited by the environment, she dropped out of junior high school and gradually joined the family troupe to help. In 1981, he performed in Southeast Asia with a group of Taiwanese opera troupes. He was directed by local Nanguan Opera master Li Xiangshi in Manila, Philippines. After returning to Taiwan, he formally studied opera, accepted Jiang Wutong's training, studied civil and military roles, and learned singing from his mother Tang Bingsen and Ke Shuimu. Later, Zhang Huichuan, a member of haiguang opera school, learned Beijing opera. He has a unique performance in the singing of Gezai Opera, especially good at zanian tune and Duma tune, and has the title of "zanian Ziyun". In her early days, Tang Meiyun participated in the "xiuzhige opera company" run by her mother, and then participated in other people's opera companies, mainly performing outside Taiwan. At the same time, she began to perform in the TV Gezai Opera around 1980. In 1989, he participated in the "national Gezai Opera elite joint performance" and first appeared on the stage of the national theater with "iron gall and tender wild geese flying south". In 1991, he won the best student award in the local drama competition as the representative of "Yixin opera company". In 1991, he was recruited by "Heluo Gezai Opera Troupe" to be the leader of the family. During his stay in Heluo, he performed many well-known plays. In 1993, on behalf of "xiuzhige Troupe", he won the best Xiaosheng award again with "a thousand miles to Jingniang". About nine years ago, Tang Meiyun established his position in the art world. Since 1994, he has been a full-time teacher of Gezai Opera Department of national Fuxing opera school, and since 1998, he has been the director of the Department, devoted to the promotion, teaching and salary transmission of Gezai Opera.
Tang Meiyun has always cherished a beautiful dream of Gezai Opera, hoping to upgrade Gezai Opera to the level of Western opera. With his love for traditional art and in order to realize his father's wish, he founded the "Tang Meiyun Gezai Opera Troupe" in 1998 to try different forms of performance in the way of annual grand opera. "Inheriting tradition" and "innovating bureau" are the ideas of the troupe, and "characteristic" and "internationalization" are the goals of the troupe. It is hoped that the beauty of opera can inspire the audience's interest, attract more friends, establish the status of Gezai Opera as "Taiwan opera" through more levels of vision and agitation, promote Gezai Opera to all parts of Taiwan, and then carry it forward to overseas Chinese areas, and promote it to the international Palace.
Tang Meiyun is a devout Buddhist and has been a vegetarian for 20 years. Because the new play will play the role of Bodhisattva, she returned to Buddhism in October 2011.
