Ding Han
Ding Han, born on August 291963 in Zongyang, Anhui Province, is an expert in mechanical and electronic engineering, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor, doctoral supervisor and Dean of School of mechanical science and engineering of Huazhong University of science and technology, and director of State Key Laboratory of digital manufacturing equipment and technology.
Ding Han graduated from Xi'an Highway college in 1982; he obtained a master's degree from Wuhan Institute of technology in 1985; he stayed in school to teach after receiving a doctor's degree from Huazhong University of technology in 1989; he went to Stuttgart University for guest research with the support of German Humboldt Foundation in 1993; he was funded by National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 1997; and he became the State Key Laboratory of digital manufacturing equipment and technology in 2009 In 2011, he served as the dean of School of mechanical science and engineering of Huazhong University of science and technology; in 2013, he was elected as academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Ding Han has been engaged in the basic theory and key technology research of measurement, modeling, operation and processing in digital manufacturing for a long time.

Ding Han was born in Xiangpu Town, Zongyang County, Anhui Province on August 291963. In 1978, when he was 15 years old, he was admitted to Xi'an Highway College (now Chang'an University) as an automobile manufacturing major from Baiyun middle school (Senior One) in Zongyang County. in 1982, he graduated from Xi'an Highway University with a bachelor's degree; in the same year, he was admitted to Wuhan Institute of Technology (now Wuhan University of Technology) with a master's degree in mechanical manufacturing and automation. In 1985, he graduated from Wuhan Institute of technology with a master's degree. In the same year, he was admitted to Huazhong University of science and Technology (now Huazhong University of science and Technology) as a doctoral candidate in mechanical manufacturing and automation, and studied under Yang Shuzi and Xiong Youlun. in 1989, he graduated from Huazhong University of science and technology and obtained a doctor's degree. Later, he stayed in the university to teach. In 1993, supported by Humboldt Foundation of Germany, he went to Stuttgart University of Germany for visiting research. In 2009, he served as the director of the State Key Laboratory of digital manufacturing equipment and technology. In 2011, he was the dean of School of mechanical science and engineering, Huazhong University of science and technology. in 2013, he was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Achievements in scientific research
Ding Han has been engaged in the research of digital manufacturing theory and technology for a long time: he has established the theory of complex curved surface wide row machining, which breaks through the key technology of multi axis linkage and efficient machining; he has proposed the full discrete method of high-speed machining stability analysis, which ensures the chatter free and efficient machining under complex working conditions; he has proposed the spatial geometric reasoning method of robot operation planning, and developed the "measurement operation" system of large blade robot "Work process" integrated (3m) grinding and polishing system. The research results have been applied in the fields of aerospace, energy and automobile. according to the school of mechanical science and engineering of Huazhong University of science and technology in October 2019, Ding Han published 3 monographs and more than 150 SCI papers. As a co chair of the conference, he held the first IEEE International Conference on Robotics and automation in Chinese mainland. As of January 2013, he has been invited to serve as guest editor for 2 times, chairman of International Conference Organizing Committee and chairman of China region for 4 times, and has made theme and invited report for 17 times in academic conferences. according to the school of mechanical science and engineering of Huazhong University of science and technology in October 2019, Ding Han has successively won one second prize of National Natural Science Award, two second prizes of national science and technology progress award, one third prize, seven provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards, and more than 20 authorized invention patents.

Only when they know cooperation and gratitude can they make a long career." on November 17, 2015, Ding Han attended the lecture series "face to face with masters" held in the academic lecture hall of School of mechanical engineering, Huazhong University of science and technology, and gave a keynote lecture entitled "Research on how to do well". on June 5, 2019, Ding Han, with the theme of "undertaking the mission of the times, climbing the technological peak bravely and realizing the ideal of life", gave a lecture on Ideological and political education for undergraduates of Mechanical College of Huazhong University of science and technology in 2018. under the leadership of Ding Han and others, the school of mechanical engineering of Huazhong University of science and technology proposed and constructed a top-notch innovative talent training system that runs through the whole process of undergraduate education and integrates in and out of class. It solved the problems of "flat but not sharp" in talent training and "fragmentation" in innovation ability training, and proposed and implemented "problem-oriented research-based curriculum learning + high-level scientific research practice + facing challenging engineering problems" It also proposes and implements scientific research and education measures such as "high-level innovative education teacher team, opening up first-class scientific research platform, developing synchronous teaching means in the industry and forming cutting-edge teaching and research content". the State Key Laboratory of digital manufacturing equipment and technology led by Ding Han was evaluated as excellent laboratory in 2013. as of January 2014, Ding Han has trained nearly 30 doctoral students, of which 2 have become Humboldt scholars in Germany, 1 has won the national nomination Award for excellent doctoral dissertation, and 12 have been teaching in universities.
