Liu Yang
Liu Yang, male, born in 1957, is a national key discipline leader of oil and gas storage and transportation engineering, a national outstanding scientific and technological worker, and an expert enjoying special subsidy from the State Council.
He once served as Deputy Secretary of the Party committee and President of Northeast Petroleum University, and won the title of "2016 university president loved by students" on January 7, 2017.

In 1978, he was admitted to Daqing Petroleum Institute. in 1982, he graduated from Petroleum Machinery Department of Daqing Petroleum Institute (former Northeast Petroleum Institute) with a bachelor's degree in engineering. In 1985, he obtained a master's degree from the Department of petroleum machinery of Daqing Petroleum Institute; in the same year, he studied under Academician Qian Lingxi and academician Cheng Gengdong, engaged in Optimization Research of oil and gas engineering. Oilfield production and construction is a knowledge and technology intensive project focusing on the main process of oil and gas production, such as optimization design of development scheme, energy saving and efficiency improvement of production process, and research and development of advanced process equipment. Liu Yang has been tackling this problem for more than 20 years, and put forward the concept of integrated optimization of surface and underground oil fields for the first time in the world. He broke the optimization mode of dividing and governing the above and underground production systems of development, oil production, gathering and transportation, and injection in the past decades, studied and established the overall optimization mathematical model covering the main production systems of oil fields, and put forward the multi-level decomposition sequential decision-making method The key production parameters of surface and underground, such as economic development period, well layout mode and water injection limit, are determined by using the optimization method, and the surface and underground integrated optimization design of oilfield development and construction is realized. This research achievement fills the gap of the theory and method of the integration of the above ground and the underground, which is nearly ten years ahead of the similar research of the international well-known oil companies. Since then, Liu Yang continued to study the efficient solution method of this problem. In view of the huge amount of calculation and low efficiency of underground production parameters in large oil fields, he innovatively proposed the concept of "effective fuzzy area of underground injection", which effectively avoided redundant calculation and shortened the calculation time. Based on Computational Intelligence and large-scale system decomposition and coordination theory, a hybrid intelligent decomposition and coordination optimization strategy is proposed, and a new approach to solve the ultra-high dimensional, multi system, multi-objective nonlinear optimization model is explored. He developed new energy-saving mechanical production equipment and oilfield produced liquid pre separation device to ensure the smooth implementation of the optimization scheme and realize the overall optimization, energy saving and high-efficiency production of the oilfield at the global level. This research achievement has been applied in China's main oil fields on a large scale.
