Huang Chaowu, born in 1912, is a Chinese male actor in Cantonese opera. He took part in the film "killing the dragon and meeting the immortal" in 1956.

Around the 1940s, Huang Chaowu performed in Ma Shizeng's "Taiping opera company.",

In July 1956, Huang Chaowu began to perform in Gaosheng theater and dongle theater.

In 1956, in Feng Feng's movie "kill the dragon and meet the immortal", in order to increase the stage effect, Huang Chaowu introduced the "cosmic lamp" for stage use from Las Vegas and made a sensation.

In November 1961, Huang Chaowu returned to Hong Kong from the United States and formed the "Chaobao opera company" with Li BAOYING. Other actors include Yingli, Luo Jiaquan and Xiao Zhongkun.

Huang Chaowu had a joint venture with Lu Guanting's father, Lu Haitian, in San Francisco.

In 1964, when he Fanfan, a famous actress, performed in San Francisco, the United States, he lived in Huang Chaowu's and Zhou Kunling's home, and there was a scandal. After that, Zhou Kunling asked Huang Chaowu for a divorce.

In 1979, Huang Chaowu and Bai Yanjiang still organized a group to perform Cantonese Opera in the United States.

In the 1980s, Huang Chaowu retired from the Jinhan restaurant. After that, he was hospitalized three times for heart disease.

In 1991, Huang Chaowu was elected president of the American Bahe guild hall and often participated in charitable fund-raising performances.

In December 1991, at the age of 79, Huang Chaowu came to Hong Kong to participate in the "Hong Kong, Macao, America and Canada Hong Kong actress show" planned by Huang Xiahui and raised money for Ren Ai Tang.
