Zhang Jianmin

Zhang Jianmin, male, Han nationality, born in September 1964 in Luanxian County, Hebei Province, started work in July 1985 and joined the Communist Party of China in June 1995. He has a postgraduate degree, a doctor of economics and a professor level senior engineer.

He is currently a member of the Party group of the Ministry of industry and information technology, director and Secretary of the Party group of the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau, and general manager of China National Tobacco Corporation.

Removal from office

On September 8, 2008, a particularly serious dam break accident occurred in the tailings pond of Xinta Mining Co., Ltd. in Xiangfen County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province, causing heavy casualties. According to the preliminary investigation by the accident investigation team of the State Council, this is a particularly serious accident, which has had a particularly bad impact on the society. In view of the fact that Zhang Jianmin, vice governor of Shanxi Province, is responsible for the above-mentioned accidents, according to the provisions of the State Council on the investigation of administrative responsibility for extraordinarily serious safety accidents and other relevant provisions, and with the approval of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, it is agreed to remove Zhang Jianmin from the post of vice governor of Shanxi Province.
