Character evaluation
Liu Jiayin is not tall, with a baby face, just like a child. Her works have many similarities with the sixth generation directors such as Jia Zhangke, Wang Xiaoshuai, Liu Jie and Wang Quanan. As far as the degree of personal style is concerned, the representativeness of Liu Jiayin's works is particularly prominent in Chinese independent films. The feature films "cowhide" and "cowhide 2" directed by him represent the pole of sticking to the author's style. Among them, the lens style of cowhide is undoubtedly the continuation of the dark realism of the independent producer. The random representation of the characters' behavior and dialogue in the film all confirms the minimalism of Liu Jiayin's directing style. (comments by Jiang ye and Yang Junlei) Liu Jiayin seldom deliberately publicizes herself, and she is even younger than her actual age in appearance. People who have seen her films all say that those real to the extreme scenes seem to carry a life inconsistent with her age and experience. Her films are unique, and what's more, they are very good-looking. (review of weekend pictorial)
