In 1950, Wang Xinzhang resigned and Hu Jinquan was forced to move to Beijiao rehabilitation apartment. In addition, he was not allowed to take the entrance examination of the Hong Kong Polytechnic, so he had to give up the entrance examination. He worked as an assistant accountant in the carnival printing factory and was also responsible for the proofreading of telephone books to make a living. Because of his stubborn temper, he was forced to be laid off and moved to 107 Boundary Street, Kowloon, where Jiang Guangchao and Ma Li lived.
In 1951, introduced by Jiang Guangchao, he worked for Longma film company in advertising, poster, setting, etc., and painted Kanban for the film "my life". Half a month later, he was fired.
