Wu Jiaxiang
Wu Jiaxiang
Wu Jiaxiang (July 7, 1919 - March 20, 1993), a famous director and actor.
Born in Beijing on July 7, 1919, he grew up in Hankou, Hubei Province and studied textile in Hankou municipal higher vocational school. In 1937, he was about to continue his studies as a textile engineer after graduation. However, because of the July 7th Lugouqiao Incident, he resolutely joined the army and got involved in the drama industry. In the mid-1940s, he began to play in films and participate in film production.
Performance experience
In September 1957, Wu Jiaxiang joined Dianmao company to perform such films as "peach blossom", "young children", "ask the sky without words", and directed his first work "the beginning of man". In 1965, Wu Jiaxiang turned to Shao as a director and part-time actor. His works include "a thousand thieves", "Taoli Chunfeng", "the price of love" and so on. After leaving Shao, Wu Jiaxiang directed only one work, chunman Pattaya.
In 1966, he won the Golden Horse Award for best supporting actor.
In 1980, Wu Jiaxiang joined Chinese TV companies in Taiwan and became a TV actor. He died in Hong Kong on March 20, 1993 at the age of 74.
