Shao Luohui, whose real name is Shao Shouli, was born on October 5, 1919. Born in the period of Japanese occupation, Shao Luohui studied as a director in Tokyo Imperial drama school. After returning to Taiwan in 1947, he formed his own drama company, but it was dissolved because of serious losses. He also set up the Duma Gezai Opera Troupe. Later, with the original script, props and costumes, and with a 16 cm camera, he produced Taiwan's first post-war Taiwanese film, the romance of the West Chamber of the six talented men, which was released in 1955. After that, he left the troupe to his friends and devoted himself to the development of the film industry.
Most of his works are based on folk stories from Taiwan or Japan, and he has directed about 40 works. Occasionally, he also takes part in the film performance under the name of Mei Fangyu. In 1960, he went to Japan to work with Osaka company to make films such as "trial of wife", "night in Tokyo" and so on. He also directed the Mandarin film "heart and tears of a deserted woman" in 1968. Shao Luohui has directed dozens of Taiwanese films, such as flowers on a rainy night, rain in the northwest, Li Shimin's journey to hell, beggar and Yidan, and when to meet again. He also occasionally took part in performances. In 1971, he cooperated with Japan's Osaka company to shoot "strange injustice of trying his wife" and "night in Tokyo", and he also directed the Mandarin film "heart Tears of a deserted woman". He died in 1993.
