Early experience

Wang Quan'an was fond of painting when he was young, and hopes to take it as his lifelong career when he grows up. In 1977, he accepted the arrangement of his parents and left school to work as a dancer in a song and dance troupe. From then on, he began to travel in urban and rural areas. In 1980, he began to take advantage of China's open cultural exchange activities to visit many countries. In 1987, he gave up the opportunity to study directing in Lyon Film Academy, France, and was admitted to Beijing Film Academy in the same year. In 1991, he graduated from Beijing Film Academy and was assigned to Xi'an Film Studio as director.

Acting experience

In 1999, he directed his first film "eclipse of the moon", which started his directing career. Personal life

Character controversy

On the evening of September 10, 2014, Wang Quan'an was arrested and detained by Beijing police on the spot for suspected prostitution. In June 2015, Wang Quanan was released from prison after whoring and had dinner with Zhang Yuqi for two consecutive nights.
