Character evaluation
Li Yang's works show a strong pursuit of realism both in content and form. He maintains the unity of content and coherence of style in his works, and his films reveal a strong cold realistic style. (Jiannan Literature: classic reading, review of Anhui Literature Monthly) Li Yang's film style has a considerable degree of consistency with this group: documentary camera language, attention to the living conditions of the bottom edge of life, the large use of non professional actors and dialects. Compared with other directors, he is better at exposing the blind area of human nature with documentary lens language, and pays more attention to the complete story rather than the plot. In addition, he tried to avoid paying attention to too narrow-minded objects, and finally successfully transformed personal emotions into social emotions, and transformed the murmuring personal discourse into social public discourse. (comment on Jiannan Literature: Classic Education Garden) from Li Yang's early documentaries, we can see that his films and TV works mainly present marginal characters. Different from the metaphorical and abstract knowledge concepts of art aesthetics and learning, Li Yang's recording presentation of realistic subjects can more directly point to the cultural soil and social environment. Close to reality, pay attention to the edge of the crowd, documentary style, niche, has become his label. In the movie poster blind road, Li Yang incarnates into a middle-aged uncle, with disorderly hair, wide legged jeans and an old canvas bag. It has the charm of "sharp brother". It shows the decadence and silence of a man who falls from the top to the bottom of the society, which is in sharp contrast to Li Yang's always mild image.
