In the early morning of September 14, 2020, Wu Renhui was found in a coma at home. His heart stopped beating for a time. After rescue, his breathing and pulse had recovered. Police sources said that friends found Wu Renhui lost contact with the police. Police speculate that Wu Renhui tried to commit suicide. The day before the incident, Wu Renhui also posted an article on social media instagram, where she uploaded a number of self portraits and wrote, "we've been dating in Seoul for a long time. Let's go. Have a nice weekend, too!"

In the early morning of September 14, 2020, Wu Renhui died at the age of 36. On September 15, South Korean actress Wu Renhui held a funeral in the Affiliated Hospital of Renhe University. Her portrait was placed in the middle of the funeral, surrounded by flowers.
