Xu Jinliang

Xu Jinliang, born in Taipei, graduated from National Normal University, is a film director in Taiwan, China. Xu Jinliang's works include "the Earth Dragon", "the mighty wind and cloud" and so on.

Personal experience

Born in Taipei, he graduated from the Art Department of National Normal University in 1967. Later, he went to Italy for further study. He studied painting at the national Roman Academy of art and director at the Italian experimental center. He won the gold medal of Rome International Art Exhibition. In 1971, he participated in the 32nd Venice International Film Festival with the experimental film sword of silence and won the Memorial Award. In 1972, he returned to Taiwan and directed the documentary Chinese figure painting for China film company, which was selected in the cork film exhibition. In 1974, he and his friends formed a dragon seed film company and began to make his first feature film, the Earth Dragon seed. The following year, he directed "go to the unknown place" for China Film and won the Golden Horse Award for first-class feature film. Director Xu Jinliang is currently in charge of Pomo fairy. In his early years, he won the first prize in sculpture exhibition of Art Department of Normal University.
