Wen Xiying

Wen Xiying (March 1920 - December 14, 2008) graduated from the National Academy of drama in 1942 in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, and later joined the Chinese drama society.

In 1948, Wen Xiying began to get in touch with films and took part in the shooting of Cathay Pacific Film Company's "crazy men and women". In July 1948, Wen Xiying was admitted to East China People's revolutionary University. In the University, he studied all kinds of materials about film art, and was familiar with the special means of film expression.

Character experience

Since the founding of the people's Republic of China, he has made dozens of films, such as "Ordos storm", "the young generation", "Lin Zexu", "steel man and iron horse", "light of the earth", "the first spring of the 1960s", "Song Jingshi", "battle in the desert", "a thousand colors are always spring", "love on Lushan Mountain" and so on, shaping a variety of characters and gradually forming a rough and simple performance style. Wen Xiying pays attention not to exaggerate the external actions, but to depict her heart and express her feelings. In Erdos storm, when she plays the protagonist, young herdsman Wu Liji, she pays attention to expressing her feelings through her eyes. Before shooting, go deep into Inner Mongolia grassland to understand the local people's living customs and social background, accurately grasp the character's keynote on the basis of deep life, dig out the rich subtext contained in the action in the performance, and pay attention to the transmission and expressive function of every subtle expression and gesture. In addition to performing, he also dubs more than a dozen translated films, such as Peter the great in Peter the great and WAN Biao Da Jie in gorgeous family. The dubbing of the mayor in the imperial envoy won the first prize of the excellent film award of 1949-1955 issued by the Ministry of culture in 1957. After the cultural revolution, Wen Xiying directed the film special family.

He died at 19:20 on December 14, 2008 at the age of 88.
