Xu suling (1910 ~ 1997)
His original name is Xu Yulin, and his pen name is Su Ling. He was born in Shanghai and was born in Tianjin. In 1930, he graduated from the Department of Western painting, Shanghai Chinese University of Arts, and later served as a teacher of the Department of Western painting, Harbin academy of Arts.
Personal experience
At the beginning of 1931, he came to Shanghai to work as a literary journal such as spring tide and contradiction. In the winter of the same year, he participated in progressive drama activities and directed or performed drama such as "random bell" and "national enemy". In 1934, he worked as a director in Shanghai Yihua film company and created the screenplay "night of candles", which was made into a film the next year. Then he wrote and directed "Little Sisters", directed "lovers of the sea and the sky" and "a song girl in Northeast China".

After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, he went to Chongqing to work in the central film studio. In 1939, he edited and directed the feature film "Gucheng Huxue" based on the August 13 Anti Japanese war. After that, he directed the long documentary "Tibet Tour", and participated in the work of "Eastern battlefield", "Xinjiang Style" and other documentaries. In 1952, As a director of Shanghai Film Studio, he has directed many drama films, such as cosmofront, Qin Xianglian, commander Mu Guiying, commander Bai Sui, female judge (cooperating with Qian Qianli and others), three mothers, and so on. His feature films include people walking high, treasure hunt of Ah Fu, the first express train, flying knife, laughter of Moon Bay, and so on. Among them, "Qin Xianglian" won the third prize of excellent film from 1949 to 1955 by the Ministry of culture in 1957; and "the laughter of the Moon Bay" won the excellent film award of 1981 by the Ministry of culture. His works are skillful and fluent in the use of lens, especially in the cinematic aspect of traditional Chinese opera films, which has made some gratifying achievements.
