Tang Huada (1920.8.20-2011.11.9), born in Guannan, Jiangsu Province, is a famous actor and director.

brief introduction

Tang Huada was born in August 1920 in a rural area of Shuyang County, Jiangsu Province. He was intelligent and studious since childhood. He had been familiar with ancient Chinese prose and extensively studied excellent classical works. His colorful stories and distinctive characters had great artistic power for him, which laid a preliminary foundation for his later literary work. After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese war in 1937, Tang Huada joined the county self defense force and engaged in Anti Japanese and national salvation propaganda activities. He joined the Eighth Route Army in 1938 and the Communist Party of China the following year. After 1940, Tang Huada was engaged in acting in the propaganda team of the army. In the troupe, he wrote and acted as well as singing, dancing and playing music, which fully demonstrated his versatility. In August 1951, Tang Huada was transferred to Shanghai Film Studio, where he successively served as an actor, deputy head of the actor troupe and deputy director. He played the leading role in Shangrao concentration camp. Tang Huada, who has little contact with movies, stood in front of the camera for the first time and felt that the performing experience and methods of the art troupe could not fully adapt to the screen. With a full understanding of the role, he performed in a simple and natural way. The film won the second prize in the excellent film award issued by the Ministry of culture from 1949 to 1955. In 1952, he played the role of political commissar in the South and North, and in 1954, he played the role of party secretary in the film great starting point. In 1957, he acted as the site secretary in the nurse's diary. In 1960, he co directed the film "red sun" with Tang Xiaodan, and also participated in the first part of the directing work of the large documentary "Symphony of Shanghai heroes". At the same time, he is the party introducer directed by Tang Xiaodan. He became a director in 1972. He has made films such as "when the mountain is full of red leaves" and "pomegranate flower", which fully shows his artistic talent and pursuit of simple beauty. On November 9, 2011, famous director and actor Tang Huada died of illness at the age of 91.

Mourning the death

Wen / Tang Xiaodan (famous director, 102 years old) since the news of Comrade Tang Huada's unfortunate death was reported in the newspaper, his voice and appearance have been repeatedly appearing in my memory. He is the first group of backbone from the army since the founding of the new Shanghai Film Studio. At that time, he was the deputy head of the Shanghai Film troupe, leading us to study. I saw that he was decent, unsmiling, and well-balanced, which impressed us very much. Later, we had three times of cooperation, which deepened my respect for him. the first time we worked together was when we filmed the battle of the north and the south. Although it is my co director with Cheng Yin, my inner thoughts are still learning from Cheng Yin and the comrades from the army. Cheng Yin is very magnanimous. He gave me a detailed reading of the director's shot book and a lot of public opinion records. Among all the recorded materials, I find Tang Huada's opinions particularly powerful and persuasive, because he summarized and refined his works and everyone's opinions. I began to pay close attention to Tang Huada and thought he was a good partner. For a director like me who has never lived in the army, first of all, he has to rely on people with strength, standard and life like Tang Huada. At that time, I thought that if I continue to direct the PLA theme, I must cooperate with Tang Huada. However, at that time, I could not help but accept the organizational allocation. the second collaboration was with the red sun crew. Tang Huada talked to me once after he joined the group as a deputy director. There are two important contents: first, he said that the organization told "red sun" that it can only succeed, not fail; second, during the production period of "red sun", I must hand over the detailed autobiography and summary of literary and artistic thoughts that are necessary to join the party, so as to better serve the people's film industry. When talking about this, Tang Huada sharply criticized me, saying that it has been more than ten years since the shooting of "the battle of the South" ended and I organized and arranged party classes to study. Why can't I hand in my autobiography? It touched me a lot to ask me to improve my understanding of the party and so on. before entering the work, I proposed that the director, deputy director, producer and screenwriter should go to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of culture to listen to the opinions and instructions of relevant leaders on the red sun's moving to the screen, and the name of Tang Huada would be on the list. I've always relied on his judgment and he's done it with all his heart. The production of red sun lasted three years. I often thought that if there was no Tang Huada among the main producers at that time, the consequences would be hard to predict. I have repeatedly proposed to the factory that the signature on the title of the film is the co director of Tang Xiaodan and Tang Huada. Although it was not approved, I firmly remember in my heart that it was Tang Huada's selfless cooperation that led to this classic film "red sun". What I will never forget is that in almost every corner of the red sun crew, Tang Huada arranged time to listen to my autobiography. With his serious and cordial help, I finally passed the organizational review and became a member of the Communist Party of China in 1962. Now half a century has passed, and I am today under the education of the party. However, Tang Huada, one of the introducers of joining the party, who is 10 years younger than me, has passed away. The pain in my heart is beyond others' understanding. I believe that Tang Huada will understand me, because he helps me in creation and believes me in politics. The deep love between us is that the prosperity of our country is above everything else. the third cooperation was with the film crew of the new river crossing reconnaissance. It was a cruel time when the "Gang of four" ruled the stage of literature and art. After I had been "dead and dead" for several times in my life, I survived and went to the May 7th cadre school to accept labor reform. Tang Huada accepted the director's task of remaking "river crossing reconnaissance". I don't know what resistance he encountered, but the work progress was not smooth. With approval, he transferred me from May 7th cadre school to the film crew. Of course, I work very carefully. At this time, the Shanghai Conservatory of music recruited workers, peasants and soldiers. My youngest son, Tang Muhai, loved music when he was young. Originally, the army's Art Troupe called him to join the army. Less than half a year later, he encountered ten years of turmoil. My "red sun" was criticized as "anti party poison grass" in the army. After four years of hard work, they were arranged to retire and work as workers in Shanghai No.2 forging plant. In the third shift, his hands touching the piano keys could only switch on and off the machine to transport large iron blocks, which made him very uncomfortable. When Mu Hai saw the enrollment of the Conservatory of music, he was the first to sign up, and the first level was the political examination. Father Tang Xiaodan is out of the cowshed, son Tang Muhai can also step into Shangyin gate. After passing the strict examination, Tang Muhai was admitted as a student of composition and command department to receive formal music professional training, and finally entered the music palace. Later, Tang Muhai stepped onto the international command post. These achievements are awesome for Tang Muhai's personal efforts, as well as for his environment and policies. If Tang Huada didn't let Tang Xiaodan out of the cowshed and get rid of the black burden, Tang Muhai would have missed the best opportunity and would not have today.
