Shao honglai (August 1933 - July 19, 2017), born in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province, is an actor, director, national first-class actor, and famous drama and film and television performing artist of Qingdao Municipal opera company.

He graduated from Shanghai Drama Academy in 1952, and worked as an actor and performer in the Central People's broadcasting station and China Youth Art Theatre. Over the past 30 years, he has created more than 40 characters. He is famous for playing Li Zongren and Chen Duxiu. Among them, Li Zongren, who was portrayed in the film "bloody battle of Taierzhuang", won the best actor nomination of the "Golden Rooster Award" in Chinese films. Later, he played the image of Li Zongren in the founding ceremony (Part I and II) and the "Baise uprising". Among them, "founding ceremony" won the "Golden Rooster Award" and "Hundred Flowers Award" in Chinese films in 1990. In addition, he has played Chen Duxiu in many TV plays.

Life figures

Born in August 1933 in a small town in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province. In 1949, he was admitted to Shanghai Academy of Drama (the predecessor of Shanghai Academy of Drama) to study performance. After graduating from Shangxi opera in September 1952, he was assigned to the broadcasting troupe of the Central People's broadcasting station, and transferred to the China Youth Art Theater as a drama actor at the end of the year. In 1956, Qingdao dialect troupe was established. Shao honglai took the initiative to apply to Qingdao dialect troupe and worked in Qingdao dialect until he retired. In 1958, Qingdao drama theater rehearsed the drama "people who dare to think and dare to do". During his performance in Shanghai, Shao honglai was discovered by Zhu Duanjun, a Chinese drama director and drama educator, and entered a teacher training class for outstanding young actors. During school, he was selected by Shanghai film studio to play Chen Duxiu in Nanchang Uprising. Since then, he has been associated with film. Over the past 30 years, Shao honglai has created more than 40 characters on the stage, especially famous for playing Li Zongren and Chen Duxiu.
