Liu kexuan, born in Rongxian County, Guangxi Province in 1904, is the first graduate of "Cantonese Opera Actor Training Institute" of Guangzhou Bahe guild hall. He is in the same class with Luo pinchao, Huang Hesheng and Zhang huoyou. He served as the second martial arts student in Ma Shizeng's "Taiping opera company" and Xue juexian's "juexinsheng opera company". He is good at singing "Ma Qiang" (MA Shizeng's singing), and has participated in many famous Cantonese operas, such as "the unruly princess's son-in-law", "kufeng Yinglian", "Weeping Jinghua". Since then, he has starred in more than 500 films, such as tiandaoxinren, Liang Lengyan, guxing Xuelei, Luoshen, er Xinchuang Mu Xin, and June snow. Most of them are ferocious villains with outstanding acting skills and can be called one of the most outstanding villains.

Liu kexuan has also been engaged in directing work, directing films such as "Liudu he Xiangu", "desolate jinyeju", "Hualuo duanchangqiao", "Baoer Xiaozu saving parents" and so on. In 1970, he stopped filming until 1978, when he made a cameo role in his son Liu Zhirong's film "getting rich and burying the bowels", and then returned to the art world.

In 1979, Liu kexuan joined Li's TV station (the predecessor of Hong Kong Asian TV) to take part in the TV series "new chameleon" and changed to a decent role. In 1980, he turned to TVB and participated in many famous dramas, including zhizhibao, four seasons, catch one by one, Tianlong Babu and so on. At the same time, he has also participated in many films, such as hit the right, the story of the sparrow hero, and five lucky stars. Plan a, starring Hong Jinbao, Jackie Chan and Yuan Biao, is his last film.

In 1983, he was hospitalized for half a month due to heart disease during the shooting of the TV series "God of wealth from heaven". He died at 9 a.m. on Monday, January 24, at the age of 79. A funeral was held at the world funeral home in honghom on Friday, January 28.

Liu kexuan married four wives. The third wife's eldest son, Liu Zhirong (1951-2008), was also a famous actor and Grand Master of Asian TV programs; her granddaughter, Yang Ling, was also an artist; and her niece, Qin Xiaoli (1925-2005), was also a famous Cantonese opera star in the 1940s.
