Lin Dachao, Professor, doctor of engineering, was born in June 1964 in Mianyang, Sichuan Province. In July 1983, he graduated from the Department of materials, Kunming Institute of technology, with a bachelor's degree; in June 1988, he graduated from the Department of mechanical engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, with a master's degree; in August 2001, he graduated from the school of mechanical and electrical engineering, Beijing University of technology, with a doctor's degree.

From August 1983 to August 1985, from July 1988 to March 1993, he worked in the iron and Steel Research Institute of Panzhihua Iron and steel company; from April 1993 to August 1998, he worked in the Engineering Department of Kunming University of science and technology; from September 2001 to November 2003, he worked in the Institute of solid mechanics of the Department of engineering mechanics of Tsinghua University; from December 2003 to now, he has worked in the school of architectural engineering of North China University of science and technology.
