Wang Qingsheng
Wang Qingsheng (1914-january 7, 1998), a native of Ninggu village, Pingyao County, Shanxi Province, joined the Anti Japanese and anti imperialist League and the Federation of social organizations in 1932, the vanguard of Chinese national liberation in 1936, the Communist Party of China in 1937, and the Shanxi workers' armed Self Defense Corps in the same year.

In 1930, he was admitted to Taiyuan Chengcheng middle school. They actively participated in the Anti Japanese and national salvation movement, organized student reading clubs, and publicized progressive ideas. Later, he was elected president of the student union. In January 1933, he joined the Anti Japanese and anti imperialist League and served as the organization minister. He was later arrested and jailed by Yan Xishan authorities. In 1935, after graduating from junior high school, he worked as a primary school teacher in Yan village, Qingyuan County. In 1936, he joined the vanguard of Chinese national liberation. In January 1937, he joined the military and political training class in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in April. In May, we will work in the first district of Taiyuan city. during the Anti Japanese War, he organized workers to set up an armed Self Defense Corps in Jinsheng textile factory and Jinhua cigarette factory. After that, he successively served as the company instructor and battalion instructor of Shanxi new army's industrial and health brigade, the director and political commissar of the Political Department of the 22nd regiment, the deputy director of the Political Department of the industrial and health brigade, and the chief of the organization section of the Political Department of the Jinsui military region. During this period, he led his troops to take part in the hundred regiment war, successfully blocked the Japanese attacks on the border mountains of Wenshui County and Jiaocheng County, and seized a large number of weapons. Later, he took part in the tianjiahui and zhenjiazhuang campaigns. In the struggle against obstinacy, he organized carefully and directed decisively, annihilating a battalion and the office of the Commissioner of Yan Xishan's obstinate army. during the war of liberation, he served as deputy director of Organization Department of Political Department of Jinsui military region, director of Organization Department of the third column of Northwest Field Army, deputy political commissar and political commissar of the ninth division of the third army of the first field army. He took part in Suibao, Datong, Fumei, Lanzhou and other battles. after the founding of the people's Republic of China, he served as director and deputy political commissar of the Political Department of the Logistics Department of the northwest military region, and director and deputy political commissar of the Political Department of Lanzhou Military Region. In 1955, he was awarded the second level Medal of independence and freedom and the first level Medal of liberation. In 1959, he took part in the anti rebel campaign in Gannan. He was promoted to the rank of major general in 1961. during the cultural revolution, he was persecuted by the gang of four of Lin Biao, expelled from the party and military, and handed over to the masses for control. It was only after the gang of four was smashed that the rebellion was vindicated. After his retirement in 1981, he still took an active part in various social activities and spent a lot of time compiling the history of the workers' and health brigade. He went to Chengdu, Taiyuan, Lanzhou, Beijing, Xi'an and other places to gather the former workers' and health brigade veterans to hold a forum to recall and collect the historical materials of the workers' and health brigade. In 1988, he was awarded the first-class Red Star Medal of merit of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. He also likes calligraphy and poetry. Calligraphy works have been exhibited many times.

On January 7, 1998, Comrade Wang Qingsheng died in Xi'an at the age of 83.
