Yang Ming
Yang Ming, born on July 31, 1985 in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, is a former Chinese professional basketball player and a point guard. He is now the head coach of CBA Liaoning men's basketball team.
In 2004, Yang Ming rose from the youth team of Liaoning team to the first team, and played in the CBA League for Liaoning team in 2004-05 season. On March 10, 2006, Liaoning team played against Beijing team in Shougang Basketball Hall. Yang Ming came out with injuries, and achieved the famous classic battle of "raising your hand to listen to Beijing's scolding, breaking your wrist to shine in the capital" of CBA. In 2007, Yang Ming represented the second team of Chinese men's basketball team in the 2007 Asian championship, averaging 7.4 points, 2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, with a two-point hit rate of 50%, a three-point hit rate of 29.4% and a free throw hit rate of 93.8%. In 2009, Yang Ming took the second place in the men's basketball competition of the 11th National Games on behalf of Shandong Province. On July 31, 2017, Yang Ming renewed his contract with Liaoning men's basketball team for another two years, ending his career. On September 8, 2017, Liaoning won a 78-61 victory over Xinjiang in the National Games, and Yang Ming finally realized his dream of career champion. On April 22, 2018, Yang Ming won the first championship with Liaoning team.
On April 18, 2019, Liaoning stopped in the semi-finals of CBA playoffs. After the game, Yang Ming announced that he would leave the competition on his micro blog. On May 30, Liaoning men's basketball team officially announced that Yang Ming would retire and become assistant coach of Liaoning men's basketball team in the 2019-20 season. On June 21, Li Hongqing, general manager of Liaoning men's basketball team, said he would retire Yang Ming's No. 12 Jersey. On July 1, Yang Ming stepped down as a teaching assistant and will take the post of deputy general manager. On November 4, the retirement ceremony of Yang Ming and the retirement ceremony of No. 12 Jersey were officially held.
On June 28, 2020, Yang Ming became the head coach of Liaoning men's basketball team. On August 15, Liaoning team lost Guangdong team 115-123 in the CBA finals, and Yang Ming won the second place in the CBA 2009-20 season as head coach.
Early experience
Because my father fell in love with basketball
Yang Ming likes basketball because of his father. In his early years, Yang Ming was a football fan to the letter. 16 years in business, never give up
Just arrived in Shenyang, Yang Ming was only 15 years old. As a young man, his days in the provincial sports school were hard. As soon as the joy of being selected by the professional team receded, the hardship of professional training and the loneliness and helplessness of leaving home came. In a corner without relatives or friends, young Yang Ming is always crying secretly under the quilt every night. Many years later, when talking about this experience, Yang Ming is still deeply impressed, "during that time, he cried almost every day, definitely, absolutely." On October 28, 2020, in the fifth round of CBA regular season, Liaoning men's basketball team beat Tianjin 119-91 and won five games in a row. After the game, Liaoning coach Yang Ming was interviewed after the game.
