Lu Xiqi
Lu Xiqi (June 18, 1904 - January 12, 1991) was an early Chinese American actor in Hollywood.

Born in Guangzhou, China, he grew up in Seattle, USA, and then studied at the University of Washington. He has worked as an artist in leileihua and Fox company, responsible for poster design. His work includes drawing promotional materials for the film King Kong.
Film career
In more than 50 years of film career, he has played Chinese or Asian roles in more than 100 films and performed in more than 30 TV dramas. In addition, he has served as a technical consultant for many Chinese films. In 1934, he appeared on the screen for the first time in the film the painted veil. In 1935, when Fox's "Charlie Chan in Paris" series filmed the third episode of "Charlie Chan in Paris", Lu Xiqi was hired to play the role of Chen Li, the eldest son of Chen Chali. After eight episodes, he left, and the role of Charlie Chan's eldest son made him more famous. Most of Lu Xiqi's roles are supporting roles. In 1937, he played a more important role in the good earth, a Chinese film adapted from Pearl S. Buck's novels. In 1941, he took over Boris Korloff's role in the sixth episode of Mr. Wong's detective, phantom of China, and became the first Chinese American actor to play the leading role in a Hollywood movie. However, at that time, the American audience could not accept Chinese as the leading role. The box office of the film was dismal, and the series stopped shooting ever since. since the 1950s, Lu Xiqi has appeared in many TV series. It is worth mentioning that he played a blind old monk in the TV series Kung Fu in the 1970s, which made him well-known among the new generation of audiences. in the movie star wars, the role of Obi Wan Kenobi was considered to be played by Lu Xiqi. Lu Xiqi's last film in her career is Woody Allen's Alice. In 1991, shortly after "Alice" was released, she died of a stroke in California.
