Rao Xiaozhi

Rao Xiaozhi, born in October 1980 in Guizhou, is a director in mainland China and graduated from the director department of Central Academy of drama.

In 2008, he co founded spring drama studio with Li Yapeng. In 2009, directed the gentleman comedy "Hello, robbery! 》In the same year, he directed the drama version of "love to the end". In 2012, he directed the gentleman comedy salted egg. In 2014, he directed the stage play northeast past. In April 2015, he directed the drama "fool"; in the same year, he directed the stage drama "left ear". In 2014, he won the best director award of the 9th Golden Lion Award for Chinese drama. In 2016, he wrote and directed the suspense comedy film "Hello, madman! 》It's shown in China. In 2018, he directed the absurd comedy "nobody", which won the Golden Lotus Award for best film at the 10th Macau International Film Festival. With this film, he was selected as the young director of the year of the 10th China Film Directors Association. Early experience

After graduating from high school, Rao Xiaozhi entered the performance Department of the Art College of Guizhou University in his hometown. At that time, he liked to write his own sketches. Rao Xiaozhi's talent was highly valued by the school teachers, who were usually very strict with him and recommended him to be admitted to the Central Academy of drama.

Acting experience

In April 2015, he directed the second work "fool" after the same series of stage play "salted egg"; in September, he appeared in the press conference of "artist residence plan" of Tianqiao Art Center as a representative of young directors, supporting the "Art +" plan; in December, he directed the stage play "left ear" adapted from the novel of the same name by writer Rao Xueman; in the same year, he took part in the costume directed by Wu Jiatai Martial arts drama "five rats in Tokyo".

On December 30, 2016, he wrote and directed the suspense comedy "Hello, madman! 》Released in China, the film is Rao Xiaozhi's first personal feature film, starring Wan Xi, Zhou Yiwei and Jin Shijie. It tells the story of seven strangers who are incarcerated in a mental hospital without preparation. The film is shortlisted in the main competition unit of the 8th Macau International Film Festival.

In 2018, he directed the absurd comedy "nobody", CO starring Chen Jianbin, Ren Suxi and Zhang Yu. The theme of the film focuses on a lost gun and a fierce and cute robbery. The film won the Golden Lotus Award for best film at the 10th Macau International Film Festival, and Rao Xiaozhi and Lei Zhilong were nominated for best screenwriter. In addition, the film was also shortlisted for the 10th China Film Directors Association Rao Xiaozhi was shortlisted as the young director of the year.

In 2019, he guest starred in the science fiction film wandering earth directed by Guo fan; on November 29, the suspense comedy Shylock on the plain, which was supervised by Guo fan, was released, telling the absurd adventure story of two "Tuku" detectives looking for the driver who caused the accident.

February 12, 2021, directed by Andy Lau, Xiao Yang, Wan Xi starred in the comedy film "surge of people," the film tells the story of cold-blooded killers and desperate dragon set in an accident to exchange identity, which leads to a series of tragic humorous stories.
