With the spirit of exploring differences and seeking new things, he has studied his acting skills assiduously. He has played a leading role or an important role in 58 films.
Early experience
Fu Qi, formerly known as Fu Guoliang, was born in Shenyang in 1929 in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. He studied in the Department of civil engineering of St. John's University in Shanghai. He got excellent grades and was a grade skipper, so he graduated from University at the age of 20.
Fu Qi was fond of sports when he was young. When he was studying in school, he often played ball games in his schoolbag. His mother scolded him many times for forgetting to go home for dinner. Although Fu Qi studied engineering, he had a strong interest in literature and music. He was a film fan and watched many Chinese and foreign films. After watching "a spring" produced by Hong Kong Great Wall company, Fu Qi is eager to see the main actors Xia Meng, Shi Hui, Chen JUANJUAN and ordinary. So one night in mid July 1952, he and a friend came to visit the studio of Great Wall company. At that time, the Great Wall company was shooting the ancient costume film "Nie Hai Hua". Coincidentally, the actors Fu Qi wanted to see were all present. He saw them in person and left late at night. Just when Fu Qi visited the studio, yuan Yang'an and Shen tianmeng, the directors of Great Wall company, found that he was a talent for acting, so they informed him to come to the company for a camera test. After receiving the notice, "Fu Qi was so excited that his voice trembled. He went to the barber shop specially, dressed neatly and came to the studio.". When testing the camera, Fu Qi "said the lines he had prepared in advance. After shooting three scenes, he ran away. After returning home, he couldn't sleep any more." To his surprise, he was accepted. In this way, the civil engineer resolutely stepped into the film industry.
Acting experience
Fu Qi's first film after joining the Great Wall company was "honeymoon" co starred with Shi Hui. The film describes a newly married young couple who, because of extravagance and waste in marriage, owes a lot of debts. When they borrow money from their relatives and friends, they are ridiculed, so they decide to pay off their debts and live a simple and happy life again. When Fu Qi's handsome and honest face appeared on the screen, tens of millions of audiences in Hong Kong, Macao and overseas had a strong interest in him. Before long, Fu Qi played a young musician in little dancer. In order to make a good shot of playing drums in the film, he asked a "king of drums" to teach him how to play drums. It's so hot that everyone else goes swimming. Fu Qi is the only one who stays at home to learn how to play drums. He can't do without drumming when he is eating or talking with friends. After more than a month, the technique gradually became more and more skillful, and the rhythm of the drum can be heard. Although this drum beating action is just a short shot on the screen, it has left a deep impression on the audience.
Many of Fu Qi's early films were co starred with Shi Hui. In addition to honeymoon and little dancer, there are also blue flowers, falling in love, marriage, dragon and Phoenix. Because they vividly expressed the pure and sincere love hidden in the heart of the young people with simple and natural acting skills, the majority of the audience agreed that they were the most ideal couple on the screen. In 1954, the "screen lovers" really became lifelong partners.
In addition to Shi Hui, Fu Qi has also co starred with Xia Meng in Green Swan nightclub, sweet honey, white-collar Beauty and Bibo fairy couple, Chen Sisi in beauty trick, spring thunder and Huang yinggu, and Zhu Hong in love.
Directing career
Fu Qi can not only perform all kinds of sad and happy roles in ancient and modern times, but also edit and guide. In 1954, for the first time in don't leave me, he acted as a leading and deputy director. After that, in 1964, he co directed "five tigers" for the first time, and also acted as the hero of the film, a brave and resourceful hero. Although the film is not very mature, but the theme is relatively new, more importantly, it shows Fu Qi's innovative spirit. After that, Fu Qi cooperated with Zhang Xinyan to bring the famous martial arts novelist Liang Yusheng's Yunhai Yugong yuan to the screen. In addition to directing, Fu Qi also acts as the protagonist of the film, the cynical "beggar man" Jin Shiyi. Because the character of this role is different from that of Fu Qi in the past, he once joked that "I can't get along with myself. I'll make a difficult role to embarrass myself." After its release, Yunhai yugongyuan has caused a sensation in Hong Kong, Macao, Southeast Asia and other places. Critics call it "the milestone of Hong Kong martial arts films" and believe that it "creates a precedent of new martial arts films". In 1969, Fu Qi and Jinsha co directed the film "the trace of a beautiful lady" and concurrently acted as the hero of the film. Fu Qi's films include the comedy "iron tree blossoms" (1973), the documentary "Chinese sports" (1976), and the fashion thriller "fight for life and death" (1978).
