Early experience
Zheng Shaoqiu's original name was Huang Kezhong. Later, his stepfather's surname was changed to Zheng Chuangshi. He was born in Taishan, Guangdong Province. His father taught in Chongji College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He died in his twenties. There are ten brothers and sisters in his father's family and one younger brother and two younger sisters in his stepfather's family. As the eldest, he needs to shoulder the heavy responsibilities of the family.
As a child, Zheng Shaoqiu didn't follow the "right path" in his father's eyes, but he was fond of acting. At the age of 16, he applied to the performing arts training class.
Since 1963, Zheng Shaoqiu has been admitted to Daxi, Tongwen and Nanguo (SHAO) training classes. During this period, Zheng Shaoqiu studied performance from Liang Ming (then head of Hong Kong dialect Troupe).
Acting experience
In 1967, on behalf of the Tsim Sha Tsui neighborhood Welfare Association, Zheng Shaoqiu participated in the Hong Kong drama competition and won the "Best Actor Award" for his leading role in the drama "Brotherhood". In the same year, he starred in the first movie "Black Ghost".
In 1970, Zheng Shaoqiu entered TVB, first hosted the music program "string rhyme sends the heart sound" and performed in the program "happy tonight".
In 1971, he took part in his first TV play "cold and warm family" and won the TVB "Silver Award for the most promising newcomer". In the same year, he was voted as the first "top ten TV stars" by the audience of "overseas Chinese Evening News". In the same year, he released his first Cantonese album "my lover is married".
In 1973, TVB filmed the first long color drama "misty rain", in which Zheng Shaoqiu played the leading actor "he shuhuan" and sang the theme song of the same name, creating the first Hong Kong TV theme song.
In 1974, Zheng Shaoqiu won the top ten TV star award. In 1976, TVB began filming the first martial arts drama in ancient costume, the book and sword, based on Jin Yong's novel of the same name. In the play, Zheng Shaoqiu plays three roles: "Chen Jialuo, Qian Long and Fu kang'an".

In 1979, Zheng Shaoqiu was appointed to take over Chu Liuxiang. The drama was introduced to Taiwan in 1982, setting the highest audience rating of 70% in Taiwan. Therefore, Zheng Shaoqiu was rated as one of the top ten stars in Taiwan.

In 1992, Zheng Shaoqiu's ancient costume drama about Qianlong was broadcast in the mainland and won the excellent co production award of the 11th Golden Eagle Award. The drama not only let the mainland audience know Zheng Shaoqiu, but also set a precedent for "drama about Qianlong" in the mainland. In the same year, he played the extreme character "Dingxie" in the big time.
Since 1993, Zheng Shaoqiu has been shooting many large-scale long plays for TVB, such as "laughing at the wind and the clouds", "man of heaven and earth", "new Shanghai beach", etc., which have been broadcast many times in the mainland.

Personal life
In 1974, Zheng Shaoqiu met Shen Dianxia. In 1984, Guan Jinghua, who graduated from the theater school, met them in the new biography of Chu Liuxiang starring Zheng Shaoqiu.
In 1985, Zheng Shaoqiu married Shen Dianxia. Zheng Xinyi, Zheng Shaoqiu's daughter, was born in 1987, and Shen Dianxia divorced Zheng Shaoqiu the following year.
In 1989, Guan Jinghua and Zheng Shaoqiu got married and officially registered. They have daughters Zheng Yongen and Zheng Yongxi.
