Lian Dezhi, born in 1938 in Chengcheng, Shaanxi Province, is a returned overseas Chinese from Germany. In 1953, he graduated from middle school and was admitted to Chinese children's art school. In 1956, he successfully played the role of little monkey in the famous fairy tale drama "Malan Flower" and won the first national drama performance award.
