Character evaluation
Yan Hao's works focus on human nature, and achieve a good combination between business and art. He is good at telling stories in a simple way, so his works are characterized by simple and gentle style, steady rhythm and constant innovation and change. His profound cultural background is always in direct proportion to the intrinsic value of the film. He has a sharp image language and narrative style, which is different from Tsui Hark's pursuit of innovation and the heavy discussion of Xu Anhua, Fang Yuping's realistic style and Tan Jiaming's experimental image aesthetics. In a series of works, persistent theme discussion, conscious narrative strategy and distinct image style are consciously or unconsciously penetrated, showing a full image inside and outside A strong speculative screen style. As far as narrative order is concerned, Yan Hao advocates simplicity in the main body of his films, takes "seeking" as narrative motivation to promote development linearly, and mostly adopts the way of single clue narration (new film review).
